Colorful Wedding in New Orleans

One of my favorite things about a New Orleans wedding? The color! This city is known for tropical palettes mixed with historic buildings. Marissa and Erich’s colorful wedding is a great example of what’s possible for a small celebration in New Orleans.

3 Amazing Wedding Venues

This wedding incorporated three great locations around the city from Uptown to the French Quarter.

Sully Mansion

Marissa and Erich’s day started at Sully Mansion. This bed and breakfast is in an airy, elegant house Uptown. Sully Mansion hosts micro weddings, but it’s also a dreamy spot for getting ready. The porch was perfect for the first look, too.

City Park

After the first look, we headed to City Park for photos with family and wedding party members. The grove of oak trees on City Park Ave is pretty iconic. I love that we got to incorporate them into Erich and Marissa’s gallery even though they didn’t have their ceremony here.

Pharmacy Museum

The Pharmacy Museum is exactly what it sounds like -a quirky museum full of artifacts from old New Orleans apothecaries. It’s a small wedding venue in the heart of the French Quarter. The courtyard is perfect for intimate wedding ceremonies and receptions like Marissa and Erich’s. Colorful wedding details always feel extra magical here.

Marissa and Erich’s Colorful Wedding

Cry Baby Florals was the main reason this was such a colorful wedding. They absolutely nailed the bright courtyard garden aesthetic at the reception. Other details, such as the vintage plates with table numbers, paired perfectly with the florals.

Marissa and Erich had a small guest list of fewer than 50 guests, which was ideal for the Pharmacy Museum. You could see how much everyone was enjoying themselves. There were so many little loving touches and glances.

Even though the forecast called for heavy rain, the storm held off for all of the day’s events. Instead we got summery sunlight all day! It suited the bold colors incorporated throughout the wedding.
