Joyful Wedding at The Woods at Eisler Farms

If you’ve ever wondered what it would look like to have a whimsical, woodsy wedding “with a dash of cats,” check out Kat and Dan’s celebration at The Woods at Eisler Farms! Their cozy outdoor wedding included personalized details that embraced their sense of humor and love of the performing arts.

The Woods at Eisler Farms

The Woods at Eisler Farm is a wedding venue about an hour north of Pittsburgh. It’s the sister venue to Pinehall. This place has all the woodsy charm of an outdoor wedding venue with access to a dock for a waterside ceremony. Kat and Dan’s ceremony took place on the dock on a clear afternoon, and the pond made such a beautiful backdrop.

For receptions, the Woods at Eisler Farms has lots of string lights and a fire pit. I love that the venue includes a tent and dance floor, so you’re ready for any weather without coordinating even more vendors. You can dress your reception as creatively as you want without losing the cozy feeling.

This venue ended up being a relaxed and easy space for Kat and Dan to share important moments with their people. Since Kat’s mother passed away before the wedding, she had part of her mother’s wedding dress turned into a flower girl dress for her niece. That reveal was just as magical as some of the more formal moments of the day.

Kat and Dan’s Joyful Wedding

Dan and Kat make their people feel loved. They’re funny and caring, and their whole wedding day reflected that in the best way. You can see their genuine joy and enthusiasm in their photos. All day they hugged their people and laughed together. They also both contributed to curating the details of their wedding day. As a wedding photographer, I loved being part of this experience for them.

Theater is a big part of Dan and Kat’s relationship. In fact, we recreated their first date at the Benedum Center for Performing Arts in their engagement photos. They organized their reception seating using playbills from their favorite musicals. It brought a touch of their personality to the decor.

Their playful personalities also came through with the cocktails. For the reception at The Woods at Eisler Farms, they had cocktails named for their cats. Little photos of their cats’ faces even decorated the stirrers. Early on, Kat told me how Dan’s journey from being a cat skeptic to a proud cat dad, so the personalized cocktails were perfect!
