2015 has been the absolute best year of my business to date and it officially marks 5 years of my journey with portraiture. Some highlights for me this year would be: jumping out of my safety zone and going full time with photography, starting to take on weddings, and just in general meeting all of my Class of 2016 seniors.
I say it every year, but I mean it every year: I get the opportunity to meet and connect with some of the very best people through this job. Not only am I lucky that i have a job where my calling is to build others up with positivity and self love, but also I truly get that reflected back to me by my clients.
You will never know just how much your excitement fuels my own. How your hugs at the end of your sessions or ordering appointments fill me to the brim with joy and appreciation. How much I adore when we end up getting side tracked and talk about all of life together. Whether it’s about body confidence, self love, knowing/not knowing what the future holds, how we all come to be who we are, or just flat out “man laughing” at each other; those conversations have been some of the very best ones i’ve had this year. I’m realizing that no matter where my career takes me, genuinely connecting with people is what keeps me centered and grounded and these client relationships create a stability in my life even during some of the hardest moments of my personal life.
So once again, thank you to every single senior, couple, family, or person that let me snap your picture this year. I wish I could give you all a giant group hug.
Happy New Year to you all! I hope you get to ring it in with the ones you love the most.
